Early Critic Reviews For Batman v Superman Are In

Hello freaks and geeks! It’s been a while since we’ve posted. We’ve been a bit busy but that’s besides the point. The embargo for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice has lifted today and the critic rating is not so favorable. It’s been going from a 32% to a 41% and hasn’t been going up or down from those numbers. As seen in the picture above, it’s currently at a 40% and has 17 ‘fresh’ ratings and 25 ‘rotten’ ratings. What does this mean for people who have been anticipating the film for nearly three years like I have? Will this stop people from going to see the movie? Well…. no. In all honesty, this won’t affect a whole lot from people wanting to go see the movie. I myself will still go see it on Thursday and I will share my thoughts on the film. Now, the strangest thing to happen here is that this movie seems to have divided people. Why? Well, take a look at the IMDb rating below:

As you can see, the rating is currently at a 9.1 out of 10. IMDb is more user-oriented in the fact that it’s the audience who rates the film. Now hold up! The audience gave it a positive rating? That’s right! Apparently, the people who have gone to see the movie have given their thoughts on social media and have given the movie praise. Some have said that the film is one of the best superhero movies of all time. Due to this news, we’re wondering what’s going on? The critic reviews are mainly negative than positive and the audience are mainly positive than negative. Could this be one of the cases where the critics got a movie wrong? It’s happened in the past with such classics like 2001: A Space Odyssey which is now considered to be one of the greatest films of all time. Now, I’m not comparing Batman v Superman to 2001, I’m simply stating a case where the critics got it wrong the first time around.

As you can see, the majority of the audience members who saw Batman v Superman have given their thoughts and they have all been positive. Which begs the question: What’s up with the critic rating? It seems strange to me and to everyone else that I know. Some of my friends on Facebook who saw the movie early are curious about the critic consensus. Some believe it could be just some more smear. In fact, there was a smear campaign on Twitter of people who said to have seen Batman v Superman early and gave it a negative review. The first two reviews on Rotten Tomatoes were from two Spanish speaking reviewers who gave the film a negative review. Both their names had Uriel on it and I believe both reviews were deleted. I’m unsure about what exactly happened but it reminded me of the Twitter smear campaign. Hell, the premiere in Mexico City was a huge success and even received a standing ovation from the audience.

The smearbots were posting negative reviews on Twitter. As you can see, the accounts are all tweeting the same thing and saying the exact same tweet word for word.

Here we have both Uriels and to me the accounts seem fake for some reason.

bvs mexico city reaction

Here we have the audience reaction after seeing Batman v Superman at the premiere in Mexico City. See all the positive reactions from them.

All of this leaves us wondering what to expect. Hell, meteorologist Al Roker gives Batman v Superman 6 out of 5 stars. Not to mention the pre-order ticket sales have broken records on Fandango. The critic consensus has fans such as people I know worried due to the fact that it can possibly affect the sales and box office yet the word of mouth is anything but negative. I’m listening more to the audience on this one. Just look at that crowd in Mexico and all those who saw the film last night praising the film! Of course we’ll all see what happens on Friday and afterwards but don’t lose hope! I’ll be seeing it on Thursday night and am already excited to go and see it. Two of my close friends have seen it and have given it a 10 out of 10. Obviously, for me, the audience is praising the film saying it’s what all DC fans want. Hopefully me or anyone else on here will give their review on the film once it comes out. Don’t worry fans, there could still be hope out there!
