Snyder Says The Trailer Didn’t Spoil Much, Calls Reddit Review “Hilarious”

Zack Snyder

According to an MTV interview with Snyder about ‘Batman v Superman’, he confirms that the recent trailer didn’t spoil too much about the film and that we should be ready for what he has in store for us.  Snyder said “I have the benefit of seeing the movie… It’s cool that they think it’s too much and I appreciate people not wanting to know, but there’s plenty that they don’t know. There’s a lot of movie that’s not in the trailer.”

MTV later discussed about the recent Reddit spoiler review and Snyder said it was “hilarious” and Snyder continued on to say “Of course I hate it when any spoilers come out! You design the movie as a story that evolves as you watch it, so moment-to-moment [you’re thinking], ‘Oh my god, what’s going to happen next? Are they gonna live? Are they gonna die?’ So you want that experience for the audience, as much as you can. If you’re, as an audience member, exploring these articles, looking for answers to questions that you have, maybe you’re okay with knowing before you go. It’s like an individual taste. But like I said, I want people to see the movie without knowing.”

The interview later went on to discuss Wonder Woman and her role in the film. As we all know, Wonder Woman is an extremely popular character and is arguably the most iconic female superhero. Despite her not being the main focus of the movie, Snyder said “We kind of tried to just listen to Wonder Woman… to preserve her mystery but understand her as much as we can, in the way that we see her in the movie,” he said. “You’ve got to listen to Wonder Woman because what Wonder Woman wants, Wonder Woman gets, that’s just how it is… I feel like there’s an atmosphere out in the world where [with] this giant iconographic strong female superhero, it’s time. It’s time for that. It’s long overdue.”

The conversation then led to talks about Lex Luthor and how he (Snyder) and Chris Terrio discussed how they wanted to write Lex before Eisenberg tackled the role. What I personally believe is going to be is a version of Lex who puts on a facade in public to seem nice and a bit of a goofball guy so the people won’t try and see through his real persona who is an egotistical megalomaniac who lusts for power and is this evil scientist type of guy seeing as how he made Doomsday in a lab. Furthermore, Snyder discussed with MTV:
In the trailer, of course he comes across in a very specific way… In the movie, he’s like a million times more sophisticated than what you get in 30 seconds. But that’s also the fun of it. That’s why you go to the movies, so you can actually see the context and understand the depth.”

We will definitely be in for some surprises come March 25th! Do you think that Reddit review was legit? Or do you believe that there will be some shocking moments in the movie that we won’t expect? Leave your thoughts in the comments below!
